Just wait until you do the Return to Ostagar DLC quest. Loot the prisoner's corpse and then use the key on the chest. Waiting until Return to Ostagar will result in better items. The Arcane Warrior spec is unlocked during the Dalish Elf quest involving the werewolves. In the werewolves lair on the third floor iirc, you find a amulet. Cone of Cold is very nice if you're careful where you're aiming it. Sleep/Waking Nightmare is nice. Spell Wisp/Miasma are nice to run.
