That way you unlock power, so that you can more easily push past the level gates that are the mainquests. The only reasons to do it in a different order, is because you got sick of sidestuff, because you Itactually takes a bit of work to even start this side quest, and you can only start it by entering The Bent Pyramid of Sneferu's inner chamber. You can find this pyramid in Saqqara Nome, and if you look on the map of the area it will be the pyramid that is furthest south in this area.
